Job Description:

This position is for the Component and System Quality Engineer for the Engine/Power, Cooling, & Hydraulic Installation organization within Wheeled Products Engineering (WPE). This important position is responsible for the division leadership in the utilization of the APQP process along with monitoring and providing guidance on improving the quality of our systems. The scope of products influenced are all wheeled machines within Resource Industries.

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for the overall management of component and system quality related to Engine/Power, Cooling, & Hydraulic Installation of wheeled Resource Industries machines

Leadership in division APQP education and improvement along with the tracking of metrics related to the APQP process

Close coordination with organization\'s Assembly Quality engineer to ensure quality events in the field or the factory are quickly addressed to improve the customer experience

Develop and/or manage the development of data dashboards related to product quality to help the team to quickly identify areas for improvement

Perform quality “carryover” analyses of Cooling and Hydraulic Installation systems to ensure any current issues are addressed during New Product Introduction (NPI) programs

Coordinate with division Engineering Managers on quality focus areas and improvement plan development

Standard work and process improvement development, update, and maintenance

Work with suppliers and Supplier Collaboration Engineers to ensure high quality parts are available to support build requirements

Lead special projects related to product / component quality assessment or improvement

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering from an accredited university

7+ years of engineering experience

Top Candidates will also have:

Experience with APQP tools and/or process

Good communication skills and experience working in a team environment

Previous product development experience

Experience with Engine Installation & Cooling or Hydraulic Installation

Strong understanding of Caterpillar quality systems

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Mossville, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 25% travel
