Role description:

Arcadis is seeking passionate Entry-Level Water Engineer, to join our world-class firm. This position will work within our National Intelligent Water Team in our Akron, OH Office and contribute to projects both locally and throughout the country.

This is an exciting opportunity with great potential for growth! In this position you will utilize your technical knowledge of hydraulics and water distribution system master planning and modeling, combined with data analytics and intelligent water to develop innovative solutions throughout the national market.

Role accountabilities:
  • Perform engineering activities for water distribution hydraulics, including pumping evaluations, flow test studies, water quality investigations, system planning, hydraulic and water quality model development, and feasibility studies.
  • Assist with intelligent water solutions development and implementation
  • Assist with water conveyance systems and asset management data analytics
  • Exercise independent judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Work on a variety of other water and wastewater infrastructure, including water and wastewater treatment and water/wastewater facilities evaluations, utilities assessments and design.
  • Develop and review technical reports for projects.
  • Assist others with defining the scope of work and objectives through research and fact-finding, combined with a strong understanding of business line and industry requirements.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis’ practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of project deliverables.
  • Increase professional and technical knowledge through regular participation in industry associations’ workshops, and presentations
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with GIS software, and Hydraulic Modeling software, including: InfoWater, WaterGEMS, EPANET
  • Familiarity with predictive and prescriptive analytics (machine learning)
  • Experience with data processing and visualization software, including Tableau and PowerBI
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling & engineering experience for evaluations, investigations, planning, feasibility studies and modeling of water distribution systems
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills
  • Bachelors’ degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering field of study
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training Certification (EIT)
  • Previous internship experience
  • Familiarity with GIS, and EPANET water distribution modeling software
