Description
The Site WHS Officer will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in a delivery station to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks in our processes, ensuring a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. A successful Site WHS Officer will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
The Site WHS Officer must be an effective communicator, delivering clear, concise, and consistent messages both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist site teams in incorporating safety standards. You will identify best practices and incorporate these into our standards to improve safety continually.
The Site WHS Officer should possess excellent safety program knowledge, as well as environmental and ergonomic expertise, demonstrating this when working with Operations. The role reports to the site WHS manager and requires flexibility to work in shifts.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance to ensure compliance with Amazon WHS standards and policies.
- Measuring site performance against safety requirements and addressing deficiencies.
- Delivering projects to Operations on time and with quality.
- Analyzing safety metrics and incident trends to prioritize resources.
- Ensuring proper incident investigation and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Conducting safety audits and implementing risk elimination solutions.
- Auditing record-keeping practices and workplace organization.
- Leading and mentoring Safety Associates.
- Engaging with site personnel for safety improvements and training.
- Managing PPE inventory and compliance.
- Implementing best practices, PIT safety, work permit systems, and contractor safety management.
- Coordinating with facilities for maintenance of safety equipment and training.
- WHS experience or qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Bachelor's degree
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification
- Excellent communication skills in English & Arabic
- Availability to work flexible shifts
- 1-3 years of safety/environmental experience in manufacturing, production, or service operations
- Ability to analyze data and conduct safety analyses
- First aid and CPR certification
- Experience with lean principles and process improvements
- Adaptability to fast-paced environments
