Website Programmer

General Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain functional and visually appealing websites and web applications.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and scalability of websites across various platforms and browsers.
• Collaborate with design, content, and IT teams to implement website features that meet user and business needs.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Web Development:

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, or others depending on the stack.

• Build and maintain both front-end and back-end functionalities (for full-stack roles).

• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

2. Website Maintenance:

• Monitor, test, and optimize websites for speed, usability, security, and performance.

• Troubleshoot and fix bugs, broken links, and other technical issues.

• Regularly update website content and structure based on business needs.

3. Collaboration:

• Work with UI/UX designers to translate visual concepts into working websites.

• Collaborate with marketing and content teams to implement SEO best practices.

• Coordinate with system admins or DevOps teams to manage hosting, deployment, and version control.

4. Security & Compliance:

• Implement security measures to protect websites from vulnerabilities and threats.

• Ensure compliance with web standards, accessibility guidelines, and data privacy regulations.

5. Documentation:

• Create and maintain technical documentation for code, features, and configurations.

• Provide support and guidance for other team members when needed.

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2. Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in web development or a similar role.

• Portfolio of previous web projects or contributions.

3. Technical Skills: • strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React, Angular, or Vue.js a plus).

• Back-end experience with PHP, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.

• Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) is a plus.

• Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and AJAX.
