Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an Ur ban Planner – Project Manager to join our team.
In this role you will oversee all phases of urban and master planning projects on behalf of the Client, from concept development to execution and completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
Manage the preparation of conceptual, preliminary and final urban development plans, site layouts, retail, hospitality and community subdivision plans, supporting documents, reports, maps and plans for development projects.
Manage the development of planning and design criteria for scope documents using acquired knowledge and skills, develop the scope of planning activities and support ongoing urban planning projects/studies within the department.
Determines the assumptions, methods and procedures to be used in urban planning studies to develop and implement plans and policies for land use, transportation, housing, and public facilities
Assist in preparing analytical demographic study reports including survey questionnaires and recommendations to be presented to the RCMC.
Undertakes the preparation of reports and other presentation material related to planning studies and projects and participates in presentation when necessary.
Assists in reviews and recommendations for approval of key urban planning and related discipline items.
Works in conjunction with other discipline groups in the preparation of policy documents, guidelines and necessary planning studies.
Prepares technical proposals and review of development projects within Urban Planning Department for Planning compliance.
Review and advise on the contractors/project stakeholders submissions related to the planning department.
Assist and provide solutions on the urban planning conflicts issues.
What Required Skills / Qualifications You'll Bring:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Urban/Regional Planning or related disciplines.
Minimum 15 years of relevant urban planning experience working on large scale Industrial and Community developments. This experience should be preferably with a consulting company dealing with Urban Planning and Development work. International experience, particularly in the Middle East preferred.
Strong background and experience in demographic survey, study and analysis is a must.
A deep understanding of the urban planning process and the latest trends and technologies
Knowledge and understanding of the analytical tools and techniques used in urban and regional planning, economics, architecture or related studies.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Outlook, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint).
Graphic capability in using computer software commonly used by Urban Designers and Architects is a plus.
