What You Can Expect

The role of the

Technology Manager
involves several responsibilities and tasks:

Technical Expertise

  • Provide technical consulting to customers including troubleshooting, in alignment with Account Managers mainly in the Middle East but also globally when needed.
  • Conduct customer exchanges in the form of visits, telecons as well as workshops on dedicated technology and innovation topics tailor made for respective customer requirements and operations
  • Propose catalyst testing and selection procedures for successful tender participation and all ongoing customer collaboration and questions. Lead catalyst design and selection process for optimal performance.
  • Lead and train Account Managers and tech service team on hydrogenation catalyst technologies
  • Tech Service for special projects by customers, incl. start-up support

Project Management

  • Provide the technical proposal / quotation basis of design, performances, warranties, liabilities to the customer in consultation with Global Marketing Managers and in alignment with Account Manager
  • In case of performance warranty offering: Develop warranty concept/offer including price proposal in alignment with Global Marketing Manager.
  • Manage product quality issues within the non-conformance management system

Vendor Management

  • Translate customer feedback into continuous improvement projects to ensure that customer product requirements are matched reliably by our production. Collaborate with Product Management and others to implement required improvement ideas.
  • Drive the opportunity management process internally (lead generation and qualification, solution development)
  • Collect and document technology, customer and competitive intelligence
  • Translate customer needs into actionable leads for internal workstreams and deliver/communicate them to marketing and R&D colleagues for new product development

Innovation

  • Drive new product launches into market in alignment with R&D, Marketing, Product Management, and Sales
  • Develop market and customer driven ideas for projects for incremental innovations
  • Plan and coordinate innovation projects in collaboration with internal and external parties, such as universities, internal R&D groups, research institutes and customers
  • Regularly present innovation and technology topics at conferences, seminars, webinars, and customer workshops as well as in technical publications.



What You Offer

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or Comparable
  • Min. 5 years of technical experience in the field of petrochemicals or catalysts
  • In-depth understanding and experience in industrial operations
  • In-depth understanding and experience in customer facing role with technical focus
  • Strong IT skills, preferably in modelling/simulations
  • General collaboration and skills to be able to work across organizational boundaries
  • Excellent communication skills, strong English skills and preferably another relevant language
  • Willingness to travel to on-site customer meetings mainly in Middle East
  • Customer focus and entrepreneurial drive
