Aramco, one of the world's leading integrated energy and chemicals companies, and international contract logistics provider DHL Supply Chain have announced the signing of a shareholders' agreement for a to establish a New Company for Procurement and Logistics Hub in Saudi Arabia, to enhance supply chain efficiency and sustainability. It would be the region's first such hub catering to customers in the industrial, energy, chemical and petrochemical sectors. The joint venture aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its own Affiliates. And in the long term would be all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia and the ultimate goal is to reach the MENA region in future
Currently, we are seeking a dynamic person to take on the role of Sustainability Manager, to be hired for this JV based in Al Khobar
Objective:
  • Leading the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and execution of a sustainability programs, contribute to category strategy setting, consider the impacts of current category management and procurement decisions on the company’s sustainability-in-procurement roadmap.
  • Interface with internal departments and business line management on sustainability priorities and communications, emphasizing on collaboration and liaising with the Center of Excellence team for corporate sustainability.
  • Performs all functions and duties as established by Company Management. These include, among others, personnel administration, work planning/forecasting and budgeting, issuance of functional reports, training of unit personnel and overall development of employees.
  • Establishes performance and work quality standards and monitors actual service levels to ensure work performed by unit personnel remains consistent with established standards and customer expectations.
General Responsibilities:
  • Line management of the Sustainability team members.
  • Set priorities for sustainability and CSR in the field of procurement on corporate level and for own team.
  • Responsible for short to mid-term (1-3 years) design, implementation and execution of sustainability strategy and programs in the field of procurement and in close collaboration with category management.
  • Enable own team to:
    • Developing sustainability programs to effectively reach desired objectives.
    • Realize opportunities for value/ savings/ improvements related to sustainability and CSR.
    • Build sustainability programs for categories in alignment with CoE experts.
    • Provide management with information and proposals concerning sustainability in the field of procurement as well as associated departments and processes.
    • Build sustainability dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and performance.
    • Make sustainability in the supply market visible and measurable.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management (SCM), Business, Operations Management, Engineering or Sustainability.
  • Certification as a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or designation as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) by the Association for Operations Management (APICS); with one (1) each being desirable; with equivalent certifications from the ISM, APICS or CIPS being acceptable. , Certification in Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) by the Association for Operations Management (APICS) is desirable; with equivalent certifications from the ISM, APICS or CIPS being acceptable. (preferred).
  • 8 years Supply Chain Management experience within a Petrochemical Operating Company, Manufacturing Plant, Operation, or Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) Environment in a procurement-related function with proven experience and know-how in the field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Project Management Principles.
  • Sustainability and CSR principles in modern business.
  • Design, monitor and manage sustainability programs across procurement categories.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the organization to drive the importance and generate buy-in for sustainability objectives and programs.
  • Translates customer needs and category strategies into sustainability programs.
  • Excellent business analysis, and command of oral and written English for effective preparation of written reports and analysis covering performance and significant sustainability problems.
  • Presentation skills to deliver to the management the results of complex analytical studies.
  • Lead a small team of professionals and provide guidance in key decisions.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders in the organization to advise senior management representatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and manage stakeholders effectively.
