Position : Supervisor, Ocean Freight Procurement

The Procurement Supervisor’s primary job is to act as responsible for Procurement leading the opportunity to success by bringing together the necessary stakeholders. Reporting to the General Manager Sea Freight and serving Commercial Team and Internal stockholders within the DSV SA organization.

It is expected that the Procurement Supervisor can demonstrate excellent analytical skills, exceptional communication skills and takes ownership of challenges and provide resolution to the situation with a pro-active approach. It is also expected that this person can work with the direction given, raise concerns and adhere to all deadlines provided.

Working with the management team, the position contributes to the commercial development, by analyzing and presenting findings in a simple manner utilizing the tools and knowledge available, in order to reach the goals. Working independently, pro-active and innovative are the keys to success. The person should be responsible to update and cooperate with the reporting manager about daily activities and escalate issues if any.

Role: Supervisor, Ocean Freight Procurement

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with all vendors, mainly Ocean Lines in the country.
• Develop competitive procurement for DSV Accounts.
• Maintain monthly competitive basket deals with carriers and share with DSV key stakeholders.
• Monitor / evaluate Dynamics pipeline for volume calculation for carriers’ negotiation / discussion.
• Record and manage Carriers agreement including rates, credit, allocation.
• Evaluate and select chosen carrier using set criteria such as quality, price, delivery, and sustainability.
• Act as a support for proposals lead by other Region´s.
• Should lead any local tenders with Tender Management and Commercial team.
• Manage contracts, support Operations team for settling disputes and ensuring that a supplier meets expectations.
• Converting network queries to business effectively.
• Should adhere to good business practice.
• Creation/Compilation of Requests for Quotation, reviewing pricing with bid owners and product manager.
• Ensure timely, accurate and quality responses are delivered to the requesting parties.
• Update and maintain monthly data records and follow up on progress of submitted rates.
• Provide weekly reports with success ratio and setting plans for next period.
• Interface with other functional groups such as Commercial Team, Key Account Management, Industry Verticals and Trade Lane Development, as well as with customers in creating/delivering customer driven services and solutions.
• Any other relevant task assigned by management.
  
  
  

Qualifications & Characteristics:

• Experience of minimum 5+ years working, out of which min. of 3+ years in the industry and 2+ years in a commercial orientated role (Procurement, Operational etc.)
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• MS Excel – Advanced is a must.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal), any other language is an advantage.
• Functional and operational know-how on global forwarding
• Able to manage cross-functional interfaces
• Organizations / Project Management skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control)
• Result / Cost oriented, team driven, and customer focused.
• Excellent team player
• Able to work under pressure and tight timelines.
