Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for developing the B2B strategy /strategic map, while ensuring to cascade the process of the strategy in alignment with the business unit sectors and overseeing its implementation. Likewise, they will define the strategic & financial KPIs, identify risks and develop the strategy development guidelines. Furthermore, to produce the Annual Operating Plan and other annual plans, in alignment with Business unit sectors. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedure.

Job Responsibility

Strategic and Managerial Responsibilities

  • Contributes in the development of stc’s organization strategy and to the overall process of management and corporate decision making along with other members of the Executive Team.
  • Directs and manages the Strategy Development mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
  • Leads and monitors change in the Strategy Development providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the Strategy Development.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop the stc Business Cluster 3-year strategy
  • Develop guidelines for strategy development, highlighting all requirements for a well-defined strategy (i.e., short-term and long-term plans, initiatives and milestones templates, etc.)
  • Communicate strategy development guidelines to stc Business sectors and subsidiaries, and provide any input required during their strategy development exercise
  • Consolidate sector and subsidiary strategies into overall stc Business cluster strategy, and ensure cohesion and alignment across the various strategies
  • Liaise with stc Group Strategy to ensure Business Cluster strategy consistency and cohesion
  • Review the strategy periodically or as deemed necessary in alignment with stc Group Strategy to ensure strategy effectiveness with market conditions
  • Develop and detail stc Business Cluster strategic initiatives and hand them over to Strategy Reporting & Analytics for execution and reporting
  • Detail the strategic initiatives contributing to the strategic objectives, in collaboration with stc Business key stakeholders (e.g., through strategy formulation / co-development workshops with the owners)
  • Communicate stc Business Cluster priorities & initiatives with Group functional units, including the management of any subsequent cross-unit initiatives
  • Define strategic KPIs, in consideration of stc Group Strategy targets and stc Business strategy formulation, at strategic program, strategic objective & initiatives level
  • Work with stc Business sectors and entities to identify Business cluster risks
  • Ensure mitigation plans are embedded within the stc Business Cluster strategic initiatives and developed in accordance with the relevant risk management framework
  • Define the process to manage cross-sectoral dependencies, document them, and ensure buy-in on them

Job Responsibility (cont.)

  • Align with Performance Management team on the strategic KPIs' mapping to stc Business Cluster sectors and entities level to ensure fulfillment in measuring the intended strategy impact
  • Develop and validate relevant stc Group annual strategy management exercises (e.g., Big Bets, PMB, etc.) and ensure alignment & engagement of stc Business Cluster entities and strategy owners
  • Participate in the development, in alignment with stc Business Cluster leadership and Performance Management, of Group Chief Business Office KPIs and cascade to VP, GM & N-4 level KPIs within stc Business Cluster
  • Define the stc Business Cluster overall operating model, including how stc Business Cluster entities are overseen and how intra-group interactions are managed
  • Control & monitor stc Business Cluster operating model and map strategic initiatives (including tools, business model, processes, incentive model, segmentation, etc.) to it to ensure consistency & alignment with effective policies and frameworks & desired strategy outcomes

People Management Responsibilities

  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for members of the team and ensures effective application of the stc performance management process.
  • Directs planning and selection of manpower in the Strategy Development, in line with the business and operational plans.
  • Ensures high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the Strategy Development.

Performs other responsibilities and tasks related to the job as directed by line manager

Years Of Experience

Minimum of 6 years of experience in a related discipline
