About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our growing Osos (Language Intelligence) team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing scalable systems, setting technical direction, and mentoring other engineers. you'll work across multiple teams to ensure architectural consistency, drive high-impact projects, and solve complex problems that affect the broader organization.

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our growing Osos (Language Intelligence) team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing scalable systems, setting technical direction, and mentoring other engineers. you'll work across multiple teams to ensure architectural consistency, drive high-impact projects, and solve complex problems that affect the broader organization.
What You'll Do
- Leading the analysis and understanding of the requirements of complex projects, identifying opportunities for innovation at an organizational scale
- Developing high-quality software design and architecture
- Writing efficient, testable, scalable, and reusable Python code for ML/AI and data applications.
- Supervise the deployment of solutions at the client's premises (if needed) and provide expert guidance to ensure proper functioning software
- Monitoring, anticipating, and troubleshooting deployed systems at a higher level. Strategize and implement updates to the code as needed
- Researching and documenting proposed solutions and align them with latest technologies, influence adoption across the organization
- Collaborating with Product Management, data science, and engineering teams and other stakeholders within your team and across the organization
- Leading and facilitate code reviews to maintain code quality, share knowledge, and mentor engineers at multiple seniority levels
- Developing and evolve engineering processes, tools, and standards to improve software quality, delivery efficiency, and collaboration across teams
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of the code, deployment process, encountered issues, and their resolutions, promoting clear understanding across the team.
- Planning, developing, and overseeing testing procedures for the applications, ensuring alignment with quality standards
- Engaging and negotiating with clients to understand their needs, update them on progress, and handle any complex issues or changes they might have
- Cultivating a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration, innovation, and adherence to quality standards within the team
- Mentoring engineers across multiple seniority levels
- Participating in strategic planning and define technical priorities for the engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or any related field
- 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar role
- Experience working with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and object-oriented software design in Linux/Unix environments
- Proficiency with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, Rust, Golang, C#, or Java, with the ability to set organization-wide coding standards and best practices
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Apache Cassandra, MongoDB)
- Experience with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architecture at scale
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and best practices for service orchestration and integration
- Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and best practices in automated testing
- Frontend experience with Modern Frontend Frameworks (e.g. React, Angular) and knowledge of responsive design principles and UX best practices is preferable
- Knowledge of containerization (e.g. Docker) and/or orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes) is preferable
- Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack is preferable
