Job Purpose
The Specialist, Fixed Assets is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of the organization’s fixed assets in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role oversees the lifecycle of fixed assets—including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfer, and disposal—while supporting audits, reporting, and process improvements to ensure effective and efficient asset management.

Fixed Asset Register Management
The Specialist, Fixed Assets is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of the organization’s fixed assets in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role oversees the lifecycle of fixed assets—including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfer, and disposal—while supporting audits, reporting, and process improvements to ensure effective and efficient asset management.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Fixed Asset Register Management
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in accordance with accounting policies.
- Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor capitalization of assets, ensuring proper classification and coding.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset schedules and reports.
- Provide timely data and insights to support audits, financial reporting, and management decision-making.
- Support internal and external audits by providing fixed asset documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in fixed asset management.
- Support implementation of digital tools and solutions that enhance asset tracking and reporting.
