Duties And Responsibilities
Education: Be holder of appropriate radiographic/technological diploma/Bachelor degree with special training in ultrasonography. Experience: He or she must be in continuous good ultrasonography practice and should hold At least 2 years post-diploma experience. Language: Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable Required Licenses/Registrations:Saudi Commission for Health Specialties & Ministry of Health Saudi license.
- Performs ultrasound examinations including uftrasonography of the abdomen, pelvis, obstetric & breast
- Submit the images to the radiologist for discussion and reporting.
- Call the radiologist for consultation during the examination in difficult cases.
- Be responsible for correct identification of patients and site of examination.
- Explain the procedure, initruct the patient in assuming physical position for examination.
- Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to the organ to be examined.
- Keys patient information into ultrasound equipment to maintain record of images.
- Records the images on the machine and transfer it to PACS.
- Responsible for recording the details of the patient to the logbook.
- Keeps ultrasound rooms in a neat and orderly appearance at all times.
- Assists radiologist in performing special procedures such as biopsy or drainage.
- Be knowledgeable in all sterile techniques and nursing procedures necessary in the area of ultrasound
- Responsible for knowing ell the hospital rules and necessary procedures and handling an emergency situation.
