Job Purpose:
The Solution Principal (Capture Manager) works on selected opportunities and oversees bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies. A major focus for the Solutions Principal is to manage the transition from opportunity discovery to the proposal process where the opportunity is closed.
The Solutions Principal should be an accomplished business developer who understands project management, contracts, and proposal development. The Solutions Principal should have some familiarity with the client in order to be conversant in their terminology, policies, organizational structure, etc.
Accountabilities:
Engage Client requirements via Customer Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and develop Project/Programme specific Solution Proposals, including technical and consulting delivery, project management, resource plans, timeline, costs, BOM’s etc. Works closely with Sales Teams, Bid Management, Project Delivery and Technical Solution Resources
Responsible for owning the IT Technical response and solution proposition in response to a Clients Request for Proposal, usually address a technical solution, and include a high level project plan, key deliverables and milestones, delivery time line, explanation of what and how will be delivered, resource plan, high level risks and issues, plus an overall price to deliver.
Responsible for building and taking the technical proposal through the necessary internal review processes, in order to obtain agreement for release to a client.
The Solution Principal may be required to engage directly with the Client via the Integration Partner (Client Account Manager) in order to clarify requirements or present considered solutions propositions whilst building the overall proposition.
Dependent on the size, complexity and diversity of the proposition requirement the Solution Principal may work with or be assisted by Business Analysts (BA’s), Solution Architects, or Technical Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) as needed. In addition the Solution Architect may be required to work with external third party vendors in the building of a solution proposition.
Working and delivering to deadlines as dictated by the Clients RFP timeline.

OUTLINE QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & BUSINESS EXPERTISE:
- Relevant Degree – e.g. BA or BS degree in economics, business administration, engineering, marketing, or finance.
- PMI-PMP would be useful, plus Industry Technical Certifications, ITIL, etc.
- 8 to 10 years general IT/ Business Experience
- 5 years’ experience with multi-discipline solutioning, building & Leading customer propositions
- Experience with the direct management of complex solutions and development capture efforts including; resource & financial estimating.
- May have held pre-sales role in consulting type environment
- Experience of the defense community and/or government clients would be advantageous Security
- Physical Security, CCTV, Access Control
