Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Site Logistics Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee all on-site logistics activities, ensuring that construction materials, equipment, and workforce are efficiently and safely coordinated to support the successful completion of the Airport Development Project.

This role requires a strong background in construction logistics, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What You'll Be Doing;

• Develop and implement detailed logistics plans for construction site activities, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of materials, equipment, and workforce.
• Coordinate daily site logistics operations, working closely with the project team, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that all logistics activities align with project timelines.
• Monitor and adjust logistics operations as needed to optimize construction site workflows and minimize delays
• Oversee the transportation, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on-site, ensuring that all necessary items are available when needed.
• Develop and implement systems for inventory control, tracking materials and equipment usage to prevent shortages and wastage.
• Coordinate the unloading, storage, and handling of materials, ensuring that all items are safely stored and readily accessible.
• Coordinate the transportation of materials, equipment, and machinery to and from the construction site, ensuring that deliveries are on time and within budget.
• Manage the logistics of large or heavy equipment deliveries, including coordinating site access and ensuring that transportation routes are optimized for efficiency and safety.
• Monitor traffic flow on-site and manage delivery schedules to avoid congestion and ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure all logistics operations comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, minimizing risks on-site.
• Work with the Health & Safety team to implement safety protocols related to logistics operations, including material handling and equipment movement.
• Perform regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
• Lead and supervise a team of logistics personnel, including site-based drivers, laborers, and subcontractors.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to logistics staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Monitor the performance of the logistics team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all site logistics activities, facilitating communication between project teams, contractors, suppliers, and site staff.
• Coordinate logistics activities with the broader project schedule, ensuring that all material and equipment deliveries align with construction milestones.
• Communicate logistics plans, updates, and potential challenges to the project team and stakeholders.
• Assist in managing the logistics budget for the construction site, ensuring that logistics operations are completed within the approved budget.
• Track logistics costs, including transportation, material handling, and equipment usage, and report on any variances.
• Identify opportunities to optimize logistics operations and reduce costs while maintaining efficiency and safety.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including material deliveries, equipment usage, and safety inspections.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of logistics operations, including any challenges or delays.
• Ensure proper documentation of all logistics-related activities, including contracts, delivery receipts, and site inspections.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, logistics certifications) are a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction logistics management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing logistics operations on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the construction or aviation sector.
• Solid experience with site coordination, material management, and transportation logistics.
• Strong understanding of construction logistics, including material handling, transportation, and inventory management
• Proficiency with logistics management software or tools (e.g., Procore, SAP, MS Project).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in construction logistics.
• PMP, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications in logistics or project management are preferred.
• Experience in airport construction logistics or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with logistics technologies for efficient tracking and management of materials and equipment.
• Strong ability to identify and resolve logistical challenges quickly and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
