Job Description

The Qiddiya Metro will be a key element of the city’s transportation network, requiring world-class station design, integration, innovation and delivery to ensure seamless and exceptional passenger experiences.

We are looking for an amazingly talented Senior Technical Advisor - Stations to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all station-related work is fully coordinated with the client, consultants and delivery partners while providing strategic direction on station planning, design, and integration across the city-wide transport network.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to and working alongside the client development team you will be:

• Responsible for all Engineering aspects of planning and integration of Metro station design and delivery, focusing on sub-structure, super structure and functional architecture, ensuring alignment with the overall Design Management Plan and integration with the city-wide infrastructure strategy.
• Oversee and coordinate the design review process, ensuring station architecture is aligned with MEP and Rail systems, and all passenger experience elements to meet all required standards.
• Develop and implement station integration strategies, ensuring seamless connectivity between metro, light rail, Q-Express, bus interchanges, and pedestrian networks.
• Provide strategic guidance on station accessibility, safety, Fire Life Safety and operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
• Ensures and assures consistency in the execution of supply chain design and construction in accordance with Client technical requirements.
• Lead engagement and facilitates partnerships with stakeholders/organizations impacted by the program, including urban planners, architects, rail systems engineers, and regulatory authorities, to deliver a world-class station experience.
• Support the certification and project handover process, ensuring stations are fully prepared for operational use and asset management.
• Assign work to project teams, oversee progress, and track station design and construction milestones.
• Support procurement strategies and contractor management for station design and build packages.
• Maintain clear and concise work standards and goals, providing training and leadership for junior team members.
• Ensure adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics, and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other responsibilities as required to support the successful delivery of the Qiddiya Metro stations.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with 15+ years of experience in mega construction or rail projects.
• Proven experience and expertise in metro station planning, design, and construction within complex rail environments.
• Proven ability for managing a large group of engineering/technical interfaces and personnel and directing work involving complex technical situations.
• Working knowledge of international design codes and standards related to metro stations and transport infrastructure.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to coordinate across multi-discipline teams.
• Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of engineering software for use in completing engineering management and coordination
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You’ Ll Bring

• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in large-scale rail infrastructure projects.
• Chartered Engineer with a minimum of Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Masters Degree and/or PhD will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience performing, monitoring, reviewing and presenting detailed functions with demonstrated skill in establishing and successfully implementing Engineering and Construction Management.
• Experience and demonstrated skill in supervising overall project engineering activities in the Transportation sector.
• Knowledge of engineering, construction, and business management techniques customarily acquired by prolonged course of specialized instruction, particularly within specified sub-disciplines of function as listed.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization, manage multiple stakeholders, and influence senior-level decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Experience working within Middle Eastern metro projects is a plus.
• Contractor management experience with a strong understanding of station delivery methodologies.
