We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Road Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, with a proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Road Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. As a Senior Road Engineer at WSP, you will lead and oversee the successful delivery of road infrastructure projects, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to drive excellence and innovation.
Your new role, what's involved?
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Design:
- Lead the planning, design, and development of road infrastructure projects, including alignment studies, geometric design, pavement design, and drainage design, in accordance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct feasibility assessments, traffic impact analyses, and risk assessments to inform design decisions and optimize project outcomes.
- Construction Supervision and Quality Assurance:
- Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase of road projects, conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications and contractual requirements.
- Implement robust quality assurance and control measures to ensure that construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and standards.
- Traffic Management and Safety:
- Develop and implement traffic management plans and safety measures to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of road users, construction workers, and the public.
- Monitor traffic flow, signage, and temporary diversions, and proactively address any issues or concerns to maintain smooth and safe operation of roadways during construction.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and communities to understand their needs, concerns, and expectations related to road infrastructure projects.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, providing regular updates, progress reports, and technical presentations to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Project Management and Delivery:
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of road projects.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality outcomes that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, with a focus on site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.
- Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in road design, construction, and maintenance, with a deep understanding of relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and road engineering analysis tools.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering road infrastructure projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
