Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist in managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple work packages, including preparing financial statements, auditing contractor payments, and finalizing monthly payment certificates with the QS team.
- Perform quantity surveying tasks, including material quantity take-offs from design and shop drawings, updating schedules of quantities and prices, and preparing cost estimates for variations and additional works.
- Participate in and document progress meetings; prepare minutes and support reporting by providing updated financial and cost data for monthly project reports.
- Review and verify contractor’s monthly and final invoices, ensuring timely submission and completeness of valuations, and participate in negotiations related to change orders or additional contract work.
- Conduct on-site inspections when needed to verify completed work against measurements, and ensure contractor compliance with technical requirements and specifications.
- Monitor and advise on resource allocations and daywork procedures, establishing systems for accurate record-keeping of cost, quantity, and work execution.
- Support SREs and REs with advice on measurement methods, interim and final quantity calculations, and evaluation of unit rates for new work items.
- Coordinate and monitor QS team activities, maintain accurate expenditure records, and assist in the preparation of the final account with all necessary documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Construction Management or related field from a recognized University.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, civil construction, bill of quantity, change and variation orders and project cost analysis for large scale construction projects.
- Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office products, including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and primavera is required.
- Good experience in project’s cost and schedule.
- Excellent command and communication skills and oral and written English Language skills.
- Ability to organize and manage tasks.
