Senior Operator, Ladle

Sr. Ladle operator is overall responsible for the ladle preparation in 150 tons steel ladles and online ladle repair activities as per shift in charge instruction. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness and follow to comply with all company safety rules, procedure and regulations.

Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:

• Take lead role in ladle Preparation (Cleaning with oxygen lancing, slide gate plate, nozzles and porous plug dismantling and re-fixing, patching and nozzle sand filling etc) jobs.

• Preheater operation and ladle gunning. Job is in hot environment and dusty atmosphere.

• Ladle side wall, bottom, plugs and plates health monitoring and reporting and repair accordingly. Check all the gaps in the plates and nozzle. And record the leftover of old ones.

• Ladle shift log book maintaining.

• In spare time also help the refractory mason during shutdown jobs in DC-EAF.

• Responsible for the quality of the refractory jobs in the shift. Train subordinates.

• Check the material availability, tools requirement and other prerequisites for conducting any jobs and inform to shift in charge accordingly.

• Get feedback from Shift reliever and able to work under minimum supervision.

• To understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.

• To follow safety instructions related to their jobs.

• To report damaged PPE, unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.

• To keep the provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.

• To avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.

• To report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to concerned responsible.

• To attend safety trainings planned for them.

• Having a right to say "NO" to any unsafe work
