Deloitte Risk Advisory offers a wide array of services designed to understand IT and business risks, determine acceptable exposure levels, implement controls, and provide follow-up and constant monitoring in the risk and regulatory environment. Corporate Governance remains a key area of focus from stakeholders such as regulators, shareholders and the general public. Due to the continued success and growth of our risk advisory service line we now have a number of exciting opportunities to join our Centre for Corporate Governance and work with leading organisations across Ireland, Europe and the Middle East. About The Team

Within Deloitte Strategy, Risk & Transaction Advisory, the Centre for Corporate Governance provides a range of corporate governance services to leading organization's, both in the public and private sector, across all industries. We partner with clients in both an advisory and consulting capacity. Key services we provide includes assisting with the design of corporate governance frameworks (corporate and subsidiary level), conducting independent Board evaluations, undertaking regulatory driven reviews and delivering Board and director training. Our client base includes some of the most prestigious names in Ireland, Europe and the Middle East, advising the most senior executives and Directors. Our team has a reputation for delivering high-quality, insightful advice and the ability to see past structures and processes into how people and culture operate.

About The Opportunity

You will have a key role supporting the team with growing opportunities and delivering high quality engagements. The ideal candidate should be able to develop strong client relationships and be an expert in corporate governance. Staying up to date on key developments is key to the role.

Working in our Centre for Corporate Governance you will typically be involved with the following range of assignments:

In Addition, You Will Also Be Expected To

  • Build and manage a portfolio of clients
  • Identify and lead proposals for new clients and projects
  • Supervise, develop and motivate team members
  • Identify and manage resources to drive efficient project execution
  • Actively monitor and manage engagement economics such that revenue is recognized appropriately throughout engagements
  • Drive the delivery of services in a timely and effective way, exceeding our clients’ quality expectations
  • Develop, maintain and leverage internal contacts across the Deloitte network
  • Stay connected to market trends and develop future innovative solutions

About You

  • Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexible thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report drafting and delivering presentations
  • Proven track record of assessing firm’s needs, providing advice to and influencing management
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate governance codes and guidance such as the UK Code of Corporate Governance, EBA Guidelines on Internal Governance, Central Bank of Ireland Corporate Governance Requirements and international standards such as the King IV Code etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Considerable experience in working with Boards, Board Committees and Non-Executive Directors
  • Exam qualified in ICSA, ACA, ACCA, ACOI or a corporate governance qualification
  • Motivated self-starter with ambition to continue progressing successfully in your career
  • Ability to develop effective client relationships, in particular establishing rapport, trust and confidence with key stakeholders
  • Outstanding academics
  • Minimum 8+ years governance or company secretarial experience (senior manager level) or 10+ years (director level), preferably in a professional service, plc or regulated financial services institution environment
  • Desire to work as part of high performing team specializing in corporate governance, in a dynamic, challenging environment
  • Development of thought leadership publications and points of view on governance
  • Preparing work papers to a high standard and drafting reports
  • Supporting directors and companies with regulatory visit preparation and follow-up assistance
  • Providing company secretariat advisory support Senior Executive Accountability regime gap assessments and readiness support
  • Supporting Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance effectiveness reviews and benchmarking against industry practices
  • Undertaking company secretariat/governance function reviews and designing and implementing best in class processes and tools
  • Advising clients on the latest corporate governance developments, obligations and requirements
  • Delivering training and development support to Boards, committees and individual directors on topics such as governance, regulatory developments and directors’ duties under the Companies
  • Act Corporate governance compliance assessments
  • Undertaking Board skills audits and developing Board succession plans
  • Conducting independent Board and committee effectiveness reviews, and individual director assessments
  • IPO readiness and post IPO governance support
  • Leading large scale transformation projects in governance
  • Supporting clients with the design, review and implementation of governance frameworks at corporate and subsidiary level (to include processes, policies and procedures)
