Job Overview:

Implementation of HSES processes in the project in accordance with the Global HSEMS and project-specific HSES requirements. The Senior HSES Advisor is a member of a HSES team responsible for best practice HSES delivery for the company and represent the organization with clients, customers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with management of project HSES related requirements and project based HSES resources.
  • Remain abreast of and report on compliance to client and McDermott requirements, HSES legislation, standards and codes of practice concerning the Project work scope.
  • Drive a common and consistent risk based HSES culture throughout the project.
  • Assist with development and implementation of the HSEMS as required by the Contract and in line with corporate and legislative requirements in relation to project.
  • Review client HSES documentation as required (Policies, Procedures, etc.) and perform Gap Analysis to Project procedures when required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Project HSES Audit and Inspection Schedule.
  • Monitor for effectiveness and assist in implementation of Project HSES Management Plan.
  • Liaise with the client HSES representative(s).
  • Provide visible leadership in all HSES issues.
  • Assist with development of Project Specific HSES requirements and Local procedures as required.
  • Work closely with the PMT and sub-contractors on development of suitable hazard control interventions.
  • Report all injuries, near misses, property and/or environmental damage incidents in a timely manner.
  • Assist / lead investigations of serious or potentially serious incidents and near-misses.
  • Monitor closure of corrective actions arising from incident investigations, HSES inspections and audits.
  • Assist with the development of HSES policies and procedures and advising personnel on how they should be implemented.
  • Review subcontractor / vendor HSES plans.
  • Provide Project Management with HSES information current to their requirements.
  • Assist with HSES training and inductions as required.
  • Assist with providing Project Management with analyzed trends, statistics and performance on all HSES matters
  • Attend HSES meetings as required.
  • Perform site visits, inspections and audits of work sites, including subcontractor/vendor sites.
  • Effectively and efficiently participate as a member of the Asia Pacific HSES team.
  • Contribute to the production of HSES information, education and awareness material for the Project and region.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Emergency Procedures in the project.
  • High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conduct.
  • Coordinate Project HSES activities.
  • Processing of vendor & Subcontractor documentation (HSES evaluations).

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 6 years preferably in offshore oil and gas sector. Marine and fabrication back ground
  • Formal university qualifications or equivalent in the areas of HSES
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • ISPS certification
