Job Brief:

Our client, a newly acquired subsidiary of a US multinational corporation in the industrial manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Finance Controller to oversee and lead the full finance function in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will drive financial integration, ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX, implement strong internal controls, and support strategic business decisions. The role reports to the VP Finance, Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa (APMEA) and manages a team of 8, including 2 direct reports.

Job Responsibilities:

Financial Integration & Transformation:

• Lead financial integration into the MNC’s global framework, including opening balance adjustments.
• Establish and implement a robust month-end closing process.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting per US GAAP and corporate requirements.
• Implement internal controls to meet SOX compliance.
• Align local finance operations with global corporate standards.

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Oversee financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
• Submit accurate financial data to APMEA regional office and Corporate HQ.
• Monitor financial performance and deliver insights to key stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and budgeting.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting in alignment with corporate goals.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and mentor a team of 8 finance professionals.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Equip the team with tools and training for compliance and reporting.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with local, US GAAP, and Group Accounting Policies.
• Maintain strong internal controls to manage financial risk.
• Act as the lead liaison for internal and external audits.

Business Partnering:

• Serve as a strategic finance partner to Sales and Operations Managers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies.
• Support cost optimization, pricing, and investment initiatives.

Job Requirements:

• 12–15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with 5 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA, etc.).
• Proven integration experience within an MNC.
• Experience with US GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.
• Prior experience in the manufacturing sector.
• ERP system implementation and upgrades.
• Ability to speak in English and Arabic is a mandate.
• Experience studying abroad, especially in the US.
• Prior experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
