Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee the technical aspects of the Airport Development Project, ensuring that all engineering designs, solutions, and construction activities meet high-quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong background in engineering, leadership skills, and the ability to address complex challenges in large-scale infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

Engineering Design & Analysis:

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of engineering activities related to the airport infrastructure, including roads, utilities, and drainage systems.
• Conduct detailed technical analysis and ensure that all engineering designs and solutions meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry best practices.
  
  
  

Project Coordination & Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring that engineering solutions align with the overall project objectives.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to resolve any design or construction challenges.
• Oversee the implementation of engineering solutions during construction, ensuring that all work is performed according to approved plans and schedules.
  
  
  

Quality Assurance & Control

• Ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the engineering and construction process.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of work to verify compliance with engineering specifications, codes, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with quality control teams to implement corrective actions when discrepancies or defects are found in construction work.
  
  
  

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure that all engineering activities comply with local, national, and international safety standards and regulations.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols, ensuring that engineering work is performed safely and with minimal risk to workers and the public.
• Address any compliance issues that may arise during the construction phase and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
  
  
  

Technical Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including engineering reports, calculations, and project records.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders regarding the progress of engineering work and any technical challenges encountered.
• Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, change orders, and other technical documentation.
  
  
  

Resource Management

• Manage engineering resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure the efficient execution of engineering tasks.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for engineering works.
• Monitor and control engineering costs, ensuring that the project remains within budget and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  
  
  

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting

• Identify and resolve engineering problems as they arise, providing technical solutions that maintain project schedules and quality standards.
• Use advanced engineering principles and techniques to address complex challenges in design, construction, or materials.
• Collaborate with other departments and external consultants to resolve issues effectively and minimize project delays.
  
  
  

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement within the engineering team.
• Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, PMP) is a plus.

• Experience:
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects, preferably in the aviation or transportation sector.
• Strong background in engineering design, construction management, and technical problem-solving.
  
  

• Skills & Knowledge:
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, methods, and construction techniques.
• In-depth understanding of industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in airport infrastructure or large-scale transportation projects is highly desirable.
• Technological Expertise: Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling), GIS (Geographical Information Systems), or other advanced engineering tools.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Project Management: Experience in managing projects, including budget oversight, scheduling, and resource management.
