Senior Design Manager (Structures) (Aquatics Centre) (SPA140)

Qiddiya Investment Company, a leader in the development of innovative entertainment destinations, is looking for a Senior Design Manager (Structures) for our Aquatics Centre. This role is vital in overseeing the structural design and engineering of the Aquatics Centre, ensuring it meets our high standards for safety, quality, and sustainability.

The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in structural engineering and design management, with a proven track record in large-scale aquatic or sports-related infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, deploying your skills to create a world-class aquatic facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design efforts for the Aquatics Centre, ensuring all designs comply with relevant codes and standards
• Manage and coordinate the work of structural engineers and designers to achieve innovative and efficient design solutions
• Conduct regular design reviews and ensure that all design deliverables meet project specifications and quality standards
• Collaborate closely with architects, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated design approaches
• Prepare and present technical reports and design proposals to senior management and key stakeholders
• Monitor project progress and align design activities with the overall project timeline and budget
• Implement best practices and embrace innovative construction methods to optimize project outcomes
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and design staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate into design processes effectively
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 9-12 years of relevant experience in structural design management, ideally in the context of large-scale sporting or aquatic venues
• Proven experience leading complex structural projects from concept through completion
• Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering principles, methodologies, and software tools
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive project success
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while managing multiple priorities
• A strong understanding of sustainable design principles and construction practices is a plus
