Senior Data Governance Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Governance Consultant who will lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive data governance frameworks for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data governance best practices, strong client engagement skills, and experience working on end-to-end data governance projects across industries.

In addition to leading data governance implementations, the role will actively support business development initiatives by preparing proposals, meeting prospective clients, and contributing to the growth of the data governance practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, including data ownership, data stewardship, data quality, and data privacy
• Conduct detailed current state and maturity assessments of our data governance capabilities
• Develop data governance roadmaps and align them with business goals, regulatory requirements, and digital transformation initiatives
• Recommend strategies for improving data quality, data lineage, data ownership, and overall data management maturity
• Develop and manage data governance policies, standards, and processes that align with client requirements and industry best practices
• Oversee the deployment of data governance tools, including data catalog, metadata management, data quality tools, and privacy platforms
• Ensure regulatory compliance for data-related practices (e.g., PDPL, NDMO) and industry standards within client organizations
• Act as a trusted data governance advisor to clients, understanding their business needs, challenges, and opportunities to offer tailored governance solutions
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather client requirements, communicate the value of data governance, and build support across stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Legal, Risk, Compliance, etc.) to establish governance roles and responsibilities within the client's organization
• Lead and mentor junior consultants on best practices for data governance and project management
• Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
• Actively participate in business development activities, contributing to the growth of the data governance practice
• Prepare proposals and presentations for new client engagements, highlighting the value and impact of data governance services
• Attend and present in client meetings and pitch data governance solutions to prospective clients, driving business opportunities
• Support account management teams by identifying potential up-selling or cross-selling opportunities related to data governance
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Information Technology, or a related field
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., NDMO)
• CDMP certified
• Proven experience as a Data Governance Consultant or in a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of data governance best practices, data quality management, data modelling, and data security
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., NDMO)
• Hands-on experience in data governance or data quality tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, OvalEdge, Erwin, and Collibra)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing role
• Arabic speaker is an advantage
