As a Senior Engineer in Fire Life and Safety, you will take the lead in designing fire protection systems, conducting inspections, and performing risk assessments for key projects. You will collaborate with clients, architects, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with both local and international standards. A strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code, especially SBC 201 and SBC 801, is essential.""
Responsibilities
Fire Life Safety Design: Lead the design and implementation of fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, fire suppression, and fire stopping systems for various building types (commercial, residential, industrial).
Fire Protection Design & Inspection: Oversee fire protection design activities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and conduct site inspections to assess system performance.
Fire Alarm Design & Inspection: Design fire alarm systems that meet safety standards and ensure they are effectively integrated into the overall building design. Conduct inspections of alarm systems during the design and construction phases.
Fire Stopping Inspection/Audit: Manage fire stopping audits and inspections to ensure building materials, assemblies, and systems are compliant with fire safety requirements.
Risk Assessment: Perform fire risk assessments and hazard analysis for buildings and infrastructure, identifying potential hazards and proposing mitigation strategies.
Integrated Testing & Commissioning: Oversee the integrated testing and commissioning of fire life safety systems, ensuring they meet both the design and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Client Care & Engagement: Provide exceptional client service by understanding client needs, offering technical expertise, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Initiative & Leadership: Take the lead in driving all aspects of fire life safety during the design process and throughout project delivery. Demonstrate proactive leadership in addressing challenges and proposing innovative solutions.
Knowledge Sharing & Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and training on fire life safety practices, codes, and standards. Propose new ways of working and innovation in fire safety practices.
Business Development Support: Assist in business development efforts, including creating proposals, attending client meetings, and contributing to local and regional presentations or conferences.
Raising Team Profile: Represent the team at local and regional conferences or industry events, raising the profile of the Fire Life Safety team and contributing to the firm’s thought leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
8-10 years of experience in fire life safety engineering.
Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC 201 and 801) and international fire safety standards.
Expertise in fire protection, fire alarm design, and risk assessments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Certifications in fire protection (CFPS or similar) are a plus.
