Contract type: Intern
About the Company

Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East — making it easy to move around, order food and groceries, manage payments, and more. Our purpose is simple: to simplify and improve people’s lives and build an awesome organisation that inspires.

Since 2012, Careem has enabled earnings for over 2.5 million Captains, simplified the lives of more than 70 million customers, and built a platform where the region’s best talent and entrepreneurs thrive. We operate in 70+ cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.

We’re now entering our next chapter — one powered by AI. We’re looking for AI talent: curious problem-solvers who know how to apply AI to build tools, automate workflows, and create real impact. Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

About The Team

You will be joining the Groceries KSA team within Careem’s fast-growing Quick Commerce vertical. The team is focused on rapidly scaling our darkstore footprint to deliver exceptional grocery experiences across the Kingdom. We combine local market intelligence, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence to build a reliable q-commerce network that delights customers every day.

About The Role

As a Scouting Intern (Darkstores), you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and securing potential darkstore locations across Riyadh. You will support the expansion team by conducting on-ground assessments, collecting location data, and ensuring shortlisted sites meet the requirements for quick-commerce operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to expansion strategy, real estate scouting, and early-stage operational planning.

What You’ll Do

  • Scout and identify suitable darkstore locations across Riyadh based on coverage needs, accessibility, operational viability, and zoning requirements.
  • Conduct on-ground assessments including access points, parking, receiving bays, power/facility readiness, neighbourhood profile, and catchment potential.
  • Collect and validate detailed site data (dimensions, load-in/out feasibility, rent ranges, landlord info, building condition, etc.).
  • Build and maintain a structured pipeline of potential sites, including photos, notes, and scoring sheets.
  • Support initial negotiations by coordinating with landlords, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Work closely with the Expansion and Operations teams to support site approval, readiness checks, and handover for fit-out.
  • Provide weekly scouting reports with insights, recommendations, and coverage gaps identified.

What You’ll Need

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • High attention to detail with strong on-ground problem-solving ability.
  • Comfortable working independently across different neighbourhoods in Riyadh.
  • Familiarity with Riyadh districts, commercial zones, and local real estate dynamics is a strong plus.
  • Passionate about tech, logistics, and improving everyday life for customers in the region.
