Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Road Engineer (Material & Alignment) to join our team! In this role you will get to work in a dynamic team environment conceptualizing, designing and determining solutions for all aspects of road design and construction.

What You'll Be Doing

• Working across a program, applying advanced road engineering techniques and analyses to determine appropriate materials and quality for infrastructure road construction works.
• Conceptualizing and designing road layouts, geometry and overseeing other designers throughout the project life cycles.
• Plan, direct, and supervise the work of engineering unit or project requiring expenditure of manpower and finance.
• Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations
• Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions.
• Review supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
• Develop operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals
• Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree in Roads, Transportation, or Infrastructure Engineering is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in roads and infrastructure engineering.
• Proven experience in designing, constructing, and managing road projects, including highways, urban streets, and other transportation systems.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, materials, pavement design, and drainage systems.
• Flexible and can work independently and also as a team member
• Ability to lead, excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
• Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and future trends
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• PMP Certified (or similar) status with an industry recognized engineering body
• Previous experience of working in a PMC environment
• Experience managing large tasks and/or projects
