Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Reporting Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to work on creation, analysis, and distribution of regular and ad-hoc reports to support business operations. This role involves data collection, reporting, and presenting key performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all deliverables. The Reporting Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and contribute to continuous improvement in reporting processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Report Creation and Distribution:

  • Generate and distribute regular reports on project performance, financial status, and operational metrics.
  • Work with project managers, finance teams, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely data is gathered for reports.
  • Create and maintain standard reporting templates and ensure consistency in report formats.


Data Collection And Analysis

  • Collect data from various internal systems, databases, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting.
  • Analyze trends, performance data, and KPIs to provide valuable insights to the team and leadership.
  • Ensure that data is accurate, complete, and aligned with organizational goals and metrics.


Report Formatting And Presentation

  • Format reports in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand manner, with a focus on visual representation of data where appropriate (e.g., charts, graphs, tables).
  • Present key findings and insights in a format that is suitable for different audiences, from internal teams to senior management.


Ad-Hoc Reporting

  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests from management, project teams, or other departments.
  • Provide timely analysis and reporting on specific business needs or issues, as requested.


Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to reporting processes to ensure greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay current on industry trends, reporting tools, and best practices to improve the overall reporting process within the organization.
  • Work with the team to streamline data collection and reporting workflows.


Collaboration With Cross-Functional Teams

  • Collaborate with various departments (e.g., project management, finance, operations) to ensure alignment and accuracy of reported data.
  • Provide support to teams in understanding and interpreting report data and insights.


Quality Control And Accuracy

  • Ensure that all reports are accurate, error-free, and meet the organization's reporting standards.
  • Perform regular data quality checks and audits to identify discrepancies or issues and take corrective action as needed.


Data Reporting Systems

  • Utilize reporting tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to create and update reports.
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of reporting systems, ensuring they are functioning optimally and that data is being accurately captured and presented.


What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in reporting, data analysis, or business intelligence.
  • Experience in developing, analyzing, and presenting reports to various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with report generation software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and visualization techniques.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings effectively.


What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Experience with advanced data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python).
  • Knowledge of project management tools and software for reporting (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Ability to create custom reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting or cost management processes.
  • Experience in automating reporting processes or integrating data sources.
