SYSTRA is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works for rail/metro projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the management of costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of complex infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on the MEP discipline.

SYSTRA is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works for rail/metro projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the management of costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of complex infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on the MEP discipline.
Missions/Main Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documentation for MEP systems on rail/metro projects.
- Conduct regular cost analyses and provide value engineering recommendations during project design and construction phases.
- Undertake measurement and valuation of MEP works (on site and from drawings) for interim and final payments.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims related to MEP works, including variations and change orders.
- Perform duties compliant with the PMC scope, including oversight of contractors and implementation of robust cost controls on behalf of the client.
- Liaise with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with contracts and specifications.
- Support procurement processes by preparing MEP-specific contract documentation and assisting in vendor selection.
- Track project budgets and expenditure related to MEP scope, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to the client.
- Assess contractor payment applications and prepare recommendations for approval.
- Review and validate MEP as-built drawings, final account submissions, and project close-out documentation.
- Maintain robust records and documentation in line with company, client, and PMC requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related discipline; MRICS or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience in the MEP discipline.
- Significant proven experience within rail/metro infrastructure projects is required.
- Prior/current experience as a consultant is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements in rail/metro projects.
- Strong understanding of contract law, FIDIC, and other standard forms of contract.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, cost management software, and relevant QS tools/applications.
- Candidates with Middle East experience will be preferred
