Your new role, what's involved?
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a strong background in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at WSP, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, ranging from large-scale infrastructure developments to intricate transportation networks.

Your new role, what's involved?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at WSP, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, ranging from large-scale infrastructure developments to intricate transportation networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantity Takeoff and Cost Estimation:
- Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs for various elements of construction projects, including but not limited to roads, bridges, highways, tunnels, railways, metros, and associated infrastructure.
- Utilize advanced estimating techniques to accurately forecast project costs, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
- Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, monitoring expenditures against forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement robust cost control measures to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Tendering and Procurement:
- Lead the tendering and procurement process, preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to optimize procurement strategies and achieve cost-efficiency without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Contract Administration:
- Administer construction contracts in accordance with contractual obligations and industry best practices.
- Provide contractual advice and support to project teams, resolving disputes and mitigating potential claims in a timely manner.
- Value Engineering and Cost Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for value engineering to enhance project value while minimizing costs and maximizing returns on investment.
- Work closely with design teams and clients to implement cost-effective solutions without compromising project objectives or performance.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, quality, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual requirements, maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity and ethical conduct.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) preferred.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoff software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex technical specifications and drawings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
