You will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring the quality of materials, installations, and procedures within the energy sector. This role ensures that products and services comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine inspections on products, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, ASME, API, etc.) and project specifications.
- Conduct visual, mechanical, and functional testing to evaluate quality and performance.
- Use precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to assess quality parameters.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry codes, and environmental standards, such as OSHA and ISO standards.
- Maintain compliance with energy sector-specific requirements like NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers), and industry-specific certifications.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including documentation of non-conformance issues, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
- Keep records of test results, inspections, and certifications.
- Monitor production and installation processes to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Perform in-process inspections and provide feedback to the production team for real-time adjustments.
- Conduct audits and inspections of supplier facilities to ensure raw materials and components meet quality standards before delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to resolve any quality issues or discrepancies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical or vocational degree in a related field (such as engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing technology) is preferred.
- Certification from recognized bodies (such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector, NACE Coating Inspector, API, or ASQ certifications) is advantageous.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality control/inspection, preferably in the energy sector (oil & gas, renewable energy, power generation, etc.).
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards like ISO 9001, ASME, or API codes is essential.
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and nondestructive testing (NDT) equipment.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and audit processes.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
