Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Quality and Materials Specialist to join our team!

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and approve marble materials, suppliers, and quarries based on project specifications and luxury standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on stone selection, performance characteristics, finishes, and long-term durability.
  • Lead the quality control process for marble materials from procurement through delivery, installation, and final inspection.
  • Inspect fabrication processes, including cutting, polishing, and pre-installation finishing, ensuring high-end finishes meet design intent.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, mock-ups, and samples for compliance with design and performance specifications.
  • Coordinate and supervise the marble installation process on-site to ensure workmanship meets international quality benchmarks.
  • Liaise with design teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues related to marble materials and finishes.
  • Enforce strict adherence to QA/QC procedures and ensure traceability of all marble products throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct material testing and validation in compliance with ASTM, BS, or EN standards applicable in both Western and Middle Eastern contexts.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, NCRs, corrective action plans, and progress assessments related to marble materials.
  • Support sustainability objectives by evaluating the sourcing and lifecycle impacts of selected marble materials.
  • Train and guide project teams, contractors, and installers on marble handling best practices and QA protocols.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years working on luxury hospitality or high-end residential projects.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with marble and other natural stones, including quality control, testing, installation, and supplier management.
  • Strong exposure to projects in Western (Europe/North America) and Middle Eastern markets, particularly the GCC.
  • Deep understanding of international QA/QC standards, stone grading, and performance testing (ASTM/BS/EN).
  • Knowledge of sourcing markets including Italy, Turkey, Greece, Spain, and regional KSA/UAE suppliers.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills across multicultural teams.
  • Experience working within PMC or Client Representative roles is strongly preferred.


Preferred Certifications

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor (QA/QC)
  • LEED or sustainability certification is a plus
  • Training or certification in natural stone testing or quarry inspection
