About The Role

Mott MacDonald are currently looking to recruit a Project Principal – Aviation to focus on growing and developing our aviation capability and offering in Saudi Arabia. The role will focus on developing existing and securing new opportunities with our managed aviation accounts in KSA. It will require leveraging the Mott MacDonald Aviation global and regional knowledge and expertise on opportunities and projects within Saudi Arabia. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that current and future projects are delivered in accordance with Client and Mott MacDonald requirements for quality and safety.

As well as being a technical leader in the field you will demonstrate strong strategic business development and commercial acumen, with a focus on delivery of excellence and an ability to develop high profile relationships. You will have significant experience in advisory, planning, design and development of aviation projects.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Deliver existing aviation projects and build on existing relationships in the aviation industry
  • Demonstrate experience and understanding of airport planning and development including but not limited to terminal planning, airfield planning, surface access planning or master planning.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of GACA, ICAO, FAA, EASA standards and other relevant airport planning standards and practices.
  • Provide insight into potential new clients and lead the business development activities relating to new aviation clients.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in the application of aviation advisory, planning and engineering
  • Take the account leader role on aviation clients in the Saudi Arabia.
  • Develop targeted client relationships in conjunction with the relevant Account Leaders
  • Be able to work with leading architects, developers, operators and management consultants to develop world class solutions and embed Mott MacDonald as their consultant of choice
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the market, help capture new opportunities, direct the bid process liaising with development teams and relevant location country managers to ensure we produce powerful, attractive, compliant and competitive proposals
  • Lead the aviation practice within Saudi Arabia and participate and contribute to the global practice network
  • Act as the Technical Lead on Aviation projects that are delivered in Saudi Arabia.
  • Engage with the Middle East market in thought leadership for innovative solutions.
  • Support in the identification of a fit for future team structure and support the recruitment process
  • Support the regional practice community to achieve the Practice Objectives and ensuring that the practice feels and operates like an inclusive, welcoming community by driving integration and collaboration across geographical and organizational boundaries

Candidate Specifications

  • Demonstrable track record in winning and delivering work for key aviation clients in KSA
  • Recognition within the industry as an innovator and technical leader
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline preferably professional chartered status
  • Proven track record in growing and developing a team
  • Proven negotiating and influencing skills
  • Proven Client relationship management experience
  • Experience in the Middle East is preferred
