In this leadership role, you will oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex infrastructure developments—ensuring they meet all business, technical, financial, and regulatory objectives. You will drive project performance, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure alignment with client expectations and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Description
Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Project Director to to join our dynamic team!. In this leadership role, you will oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex infrastructure developments—ensuring they meet all business, technical, financial, and regulatory objectives. You will drive project performance, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure alignment with client expectations and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
- Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other required documents.
- Establish program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
- Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates, leveraging their qualifications and strengths.
- Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
- Market and secure additional work with the client.
- Follow up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
- Develop and distribute a project summary to all members of the project team for reference.
- Provide input on performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
- Mobilize company resources through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
- Discuss the qualifications required for key project positions in detail with profit center and department managers.
- Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to developing budgets, schedules, and plans for various project elements.
- Collaborate with key project individuals to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays or accommodate significant changes to the scope of work; advise the client and company management of changes.
- Maintain current and timely change orders.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes.
- Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement, payroll operations, etc.
- Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activities within the program, including significant milestones and any conditions affecting project cost or schedule.
- Act as the Company representative with the client and select subcontractors during program execution.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and public meetings in support of clients.
- Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical/business field.
- Over 20 years of related work experience, delivering large-scale roads and infrastructure projects, with hands-on construction project management expertise gained from working with top-tier consultancy firms.
- Proven ability to effectively assist in managing teams and communicating with clients.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Professional Registration or Chartered Engineering membership is desirable.
- Ability to meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements.
- Familiarity with the integration of engineering/technical aspects, as well as procurement and construction activities.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Knowledge of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on projects.
