WSP is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Controls Engineer to join our team for a major, high-profile project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position requires strong technical expertise in project controls, the ability to oversee planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk control, and the capability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.


Your new role, what's involved?

  • The Project Controls Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leads project plans, schedules and the baseline schedule.
  • Evaluate current procedures to create more efficient / cost effective management of resources in the following areas,
  • Procurement, change orders, Document Control and Administrative Practices, Program Close Out, EOT / Dispute Resolution
  • Monitors, analyses & reports on project performance using qualitative and quantitative tools.
  • Recommends and implements modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.
  • Plans, coordinates and monitors activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures, processes and systems.
  • Setting-up Primavera Project Management System P6 (latest version) for program management across the planning team with all stakeholders.
  • Reviews and updates Project Management Plans relevant to Project Controls.
  • Supports in preparing and maintaining the master program for the project.
  • Review and analyze data/schedule received from the other organizations (Designers, PMCs, and Contractors).
  • Plans and provides direction as required for the preparation of planning and scheduling control systems.
  • Works with other functions such as Procurement, Technical, Logistic relating to understand their requirement and provide direction to project control team.
  • Assisting in establishing / delivering formal reporting arrangements on project progress for the client and project.
  • Reviewing contract documents, suggesting changes for planning and programming aspects and the addition of new clauses if necessary.
  • Arranging planning workshops/meetings to discuss and assist contractors / consultants to close their planning / project control issues.
  • Review and Analyze any claims and EOT requests.
  • Conduct benchmarking data collection analysis for similar projects (buildings and infrastructure).
  • Makes recommendations for possible acceleration to the schedule.
  • Assist in developing the document control system and communication flow for the project.
  • Reviewing Schedule construction programs received from contractors and analyzing them in line with the contractual requirements.
  • Preparing progress presentations for the clients.
  • Developing weekly and monthly progress report protocols / templates for progress reporting and monitoring progress against it.
  • Assist in risk assessment and mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and Provide Program Management Plan (PMP) in consultation with Clients, as a guide to the project teams in performance of their duties; to identify responsibilities and coordinate various actions and procedures into one comprehensive document
  • Reviewing construction programs received from contractors and analyzing them in line with the contractual requirements.
  • Prepare, review and advise on Stakeholder Management Plan including identification of stakeholders, communication assessment and aligning communication plan in line with master program.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Must possess (minimum) 5 years of experience in project control.
  • Strong experience in PCM of major capital projects.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Independent worker who can work well with minimal supervision.
  • Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills and in the
  • development of project control processes and procedures.
  • PMP or other professional certifications.
  • Advanced MS Office Suits.
  • Experience in using Primavera P6, ACONEX & Oracle suite.
  • Sound knowledge of project controls practices, broad knowledge of cost, risk, change and specific knowledge in earned
  • value management
  • Extensive knowledge of best reporting practices in the areas of dashboards, and KPIs.
