About the Role
Accountable for managing project controls activities, including planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting for complex projects. Ensures that projects are monitored and controlled effectively, delivering timely, accurate data for decision-making, and maintaining alignment with defined scope, budget, and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Project Control Management: Oversee the establishment, implementation, and management of comprehensive project control systems, including scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
- Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and control detailed project schedules, integrating data from various sources and ensuring alignment with the overall program timeline.
- Cost Control and Budget Management: Manage project cost control processes, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, document, and monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints. Develop mitigation strategies and ensure timely communication and escalation of critical issues.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare comprehensive project performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, highlighting progress, trends, forecasts, and variances.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information flow, enabling effective project decision-making.
- Project Governance: Ensure adherence to project governance standards and compliance with organizational processes and procedures, clarifying roles and responsibilities related to project controls.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the implementation of project quality standards related to project controls and reporting. Conduct regular reviews to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Change Control: Administer project change control procedures, ensuring all changes are properly documented, assessed, and approved, maintaining accurate baseline records.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project controls processes, tools, and techniques, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is preferred.
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge in planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, risk management, and performance reporting.
- Proficient in project management software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP).
- Skilled in analyzing complex project data and generating accurate forecasts and performance reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Minimum of six to eight years of experience in project control functions, with progressive responsibility and leadership roles.
