Your role and responsibilities
Implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Leverages category teams locally, regionally and globally to ensure appropriate supplier selection. Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major local suppliers. Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines. Manages planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets and savings forecasts. Ensures buyers minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines. Technically evaluating and Negotiating the offers to meet the project budget Preferred the knowledge of Tools, procedures & reports like: SAP, E-Smart, SFDB, eRFQ, PPS, SPE, Supplier risk Management, new vendor development & qualification, Sustainability & risk assessment, Pro-actively works to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery. Monitors and reports internal and supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues and development actions. Supports conformance to ABB Procurement metrics. Deploys and leads strategy, objectives and targets for Quality Management in line with the Quality Management System, Quality Policy and local strategy. Continuously identifies and addresses risks and opportunities related to the organization or its Quality Management. Ensures a closed-loop quality cycle and customer experience feedback to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met Ensures that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken and solutions are managed to closure Works within ABB local organizational units / functions to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers. Drives the vision for zero-defects and establishes mechanisms to ensure that requirements from ABB, customers and stakeholders can be fulfilled, focusing on prevention rather than only control. Acts as a local process owner/sponsor for the assigned processes, including definition & documentation (Plan), implementation & communication (Do), supervision & control (Check) and continuous improvement (Act) of the process. Ensures the Voice of the Customer is represented at the local unit and that risks, problems and solutions are evaluated from a customer/stakeholder point of view and drives resolution to completion. Promotes and leads improvement programs and projects within the scope of responsibility, with a hands-on (Gemba) and problem-solving approach. Understands and promotes behavioral change to continuously improve performance. Promotes a systematic fact-based approach and the applicable tools to identify and to evaluate opportunities, to execute improvement projects and all issue resolution activities. Takes active involvement in the digitalization of operations, including supply chain, office, manufacturing, and workshop automation initiatives Ability to work with cross functional teams, viz., engineering, project Management and service.
Qualifications for the role
- Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation
- with 10-12 years of experience in executing medium to large sized complex instrumentation and analytical projects
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English Language
- Experience of working in SAP.
- Technical know how on analytical products and systems preferred
