Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Engineer with deep expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will lead the migration of workloads from legacy systems to a robust, cloud-native infrastructure on GCP, ensuring performance optimization, security best practices, and reliable CI/CD implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration of application workloads from a legacy vendor to the client’s GCP and Kubernetes environment.
  • Design, configure, and manage four Kubernetes clusters, including one non-production, two production (active-passive), and one disaster recovery (DR) cluster.
  • Optimize Kubernetes workloads for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement IAM policies, access control mechanisms, and enforce cloud security best practices.
  • Assist in designing and configuring automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools.
  • Provide technical support and resolve infrastructure-related issues for cloud-native applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure design and best practices.


Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep technical knowledge of GKE and container orchestration.
  • Strong experience in GCP networking, IAM policies, firewall configurations, and VPC setup.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Helm, and the Kubernetes API.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Google Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver).
  • Solid understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and cloud-native security principles.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Golang for automation tasks.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipeline implementation using Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or equivalent tools.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience in designing high-availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical solutions with business goals and document best practices effectively.
