Project Overview:
Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in RiyadhJob Summary:
In this role, you will assist the Prime Contract Manager in the administeration of the prime contract for the KSIA Terminals Project. You will work with the project delivery teams to establish the contract baseline, management process, pending items, changes and variations, preparing timely corresponsence, and analyzing terms and conditions. You will raise awareness of risks, identify revenue growth opportunities, and recommend actions to protect Bechtel’s interest and improve project performance.
Major Responsibilities:
- With the project team, identifies the contract baseline, including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule, and other documents incorporated in the contract
- Develops and maintains the prime contract management processes, procedures, tools, and training as outlined in the Prime Contracts Management Manual and related business unit functional procedures, including the Prime Contract Management Responsibilities Matrix and Prime Contract Action/Notice List/Liability Containment Plan/Flowdown Matrix (or comparable tools) identifying the specific contract actions and obligations of Bechtel and the customer and the individual responsible for each action
- Establishes tools and/or uses and maintains records and systems required by Customer and/or partners in Joint Association arrangements
- Develops suitable materials/systems to manage key issues, bespoke contract requirements, e.g., for incentive/Key Performance Indicator regimes, bonus/incentive, penalties
- Supports analysis of the prime contract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of potential risk such as ambiguities, omissions, and conflicts; assists the Prime Contract Manager in mitigating those risks that arise; monitors closely and supports remedial actions as necessary and recommends appropriate tradeoffs to the Prime Contract Manager
- Supports the Prime Contract Manager implement the Project Prime Contract Change Management Procedure, incorporating the Pending Item Program. Support the process and methodology to identify changes, quantify the additional time and compensation due Bechtel per the contract, define approval requirements and communicate changes to the Customer
- Participates in project related meetings, works closely with Construction, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Controls, and reviews project data to ensure awareness of all project activities that may affect the prime contract, identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedules relief and claim avoidance, recommends appropriate actions to protect Bechtel’s interest and/or improve project performance, and ensures compliance with prime contract terms and conditions
- Supports development of a program to identify and prepare change requests as they develop
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
