We are looking for the Pre-Tendering Project Manager who is responsible for leading the technical and commercial evaluation of elevator and escalator projects during the pre-tendering and tendering phase, ensuring that all design, scope, and costing align with company standards, client requirements, and profitability targets.
This role acts as the key interface between Sales, Engineering, Sourcing, and Operations, to secure technically feasible and commercially competitive solutions for complex vertical transportation projects.
What will you do?
Tender & Technical Review
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify scope, risks, and technical requirements.
- Lead technical clarifications with clients, consultants, and main contractors during the tender phase.
- Prepare accurate project costing, budget estimates, and time schedules in alignment with company standards.
- Evaluate and define installation methodologies, manpower needs, and logistics requirements.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise closely with the Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure design and pricing consistency.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for quotations, technical proposals, and value engineering options.
- Ensure full alignment between tender documentation and KONE technical solutions and specifications.
Risk & Cost Management
- Identify and assess potential project risks, propose mitigation plans, and highlight deviations from standard conditions.
- Support management in defining project margins and CM targets based on risk analysis.
- Maintain accurate documentation of tender decisions, assumptions, and costing files for future reference.
Process & Quality
- Ensure compliance with internal tendering processes, corporate governance, and approval levels.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by updating cost databases, installation benchmarks, and productivity data.
- Participate in lessons-learned sessions post-award to enhance accuracy of future tenders.
Are you the one?
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in the elevator and escalator industry, with strong exposure to project estimation, tendering, or project management.
- Proven understanding of elevator/escalator systems, civil interface, and site coordination requirements.
- Experience in preparing commercial and technical proposals for large or complex projects.
- Strong analytical and cost estimation skills.
- Excellent command of MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and ERP systems.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and commercial awareness.
- Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
