Planning & Design Section Manager

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for managing all planning and design services for campus masterplan, buildings, sites, and offices both internal and external, and office/staff distribution and allocation to reduce the operational cost, preparing and reviewing the technical tender documents. Additionally, evaluate vendors, and ensuring quality delivery by internal and external service providers in an efficient and cost effective manner. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility

• Manages and provides in-house & outsourced planning and design services for campus masterplan, buildings, sites, and offices.
• Ensures providing optimal solutions for all requests related to planning and design services.
• Leads discussions and negotiations with various sectors to implement plans aligned with corporate guidelines ensuring optimization of available office area while meeting business requirements and office distribution standards in a cost effective manner.
• Plans and contributes to budget estimation for Building Design and Construction activities and stc construction projects
• Supervises all planning and design services related to existing and new outlets, data centre buildings and administration buildings across KSA.
• Optimizes the office area allocation provided to all regions with annual plans to reduce operational costs and creates more investment opportunities for various sites.
• Evaluates and prioritises building proposals from customers.
• Supports in preparing specifications for new contracts, post that coordinates with BM Vendor and Contract Management Section to select the appropriate external vendor and also reviews and approves tender package documents.
• Monitors engineering design activities and supports in identifying the best possible tender and engineering contractor for the job.
• Coordinates with BM Vendor and Contract Management to issue work orders and change orders, provide input on contractor quality of work and finalize payments.
