The Position

The Opportunity

As Patient Safety Group Lead for the GCC, you will take on a dual leadership role — as both the local Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV) in Saudi Arabia and the Group Safety Lead for Gulf countries. In this role, you will set the strategic direction for pharmacovigilance, safety risk management, and team development across the GCC, enabling a unified and high-performing Patient Safety presence.

You will lead and develop a team of Patient Safety Partners and Lead(s) across the region, fostering excellence, agility, and future talent.

This position reports to the Head IPS Region and is a key member of the CMA Leadership Team.

Your Responsibilities
  • The Group Lead is accountable for the implementation, maintenance and oversight of the pharmacovigilance system in Saudi Arabia and sets the overall strategic direction for APS across the GCC including safety risk management ensuring alignment with IPS priorities and local business needs. Specifically for Saudi Arabia, the Group Lead will also act as the Local Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV).
  • Lead safety solutions implementation and launch readiness activities: Drive the successful implementation of global safety strategies and tools at the affiliate level and across GCC, ensuring local/GCC adaptation within the integrated therapeutic strategy
  • Lead local safety risk management and safety communication, ensuring timely, transparent, and compliant delivery to healthcare professionals, patients, and regulators
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs and cross-functional partners to integrate safety thinking into strategic planning and real-world impact
  • Build strong partnerships with local Health Authorities and represent Roche in external safety and PV discussions
  • Contribute to shaping the broader PV ecosystem and regulatory harmonization in the GCC — including engagement with trade associations, healthcare organizations, and patient groups
  • Lead and develop a team of Patient Safety Partners and Leads across GCC countries
  • Collaborate with affiliate and regional leadership to ensure patient safety strategies are embedded in business and access priorities


Who You Are
  • Degree in healthcare-related discipline (e.g., PharmD, Pharmacy)
  • Licensed pharmacist by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical research, pharmacovigilance, or drug safety. At least 3 years in an affiliate and/or regional PV role
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement experience in matrix environments as well as people management experience.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
