Operations Specialist

Purpose of Role

To provide advice, guidance to the Operations Shift teams, and to coordinate activities of maintenance, quality control with the supporting departments to maintain production uninterrupted at a quality and safe standard.

Brief Job Description:

• Catofin/Cracker technology experience is required.
• Follows up and ensures plant safety, quality and performance related issues for the efficient operation.
• Daily review and check process parameters and ensure are within design and acceptable range and take necessary actions for rectifications.
• Review plant operating data, new MOC and maintenance scope of work and ensure compliance to design and EHSS standards.
• Assists operation personnel in commissioning of new equipment and other unit/control modifications. Coordinates training of operating personnel in relation to new equipment installation and/or process control modifications.
• Assists Maintenance personnel in day-to-day equipment troubleshooting and repairs and coordinates with Maintenance, Process engineering in day-to-day activities as required.
• Plan and coordinate all activities, prior to, during and after Unit shutdown.
• Promotes safety and environmental awareness through-out the department
• Initiates Instructions and guidelines to PDH Operations Shift Teams through Plant Manager’s approval.
• Reviews and Update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to meet operations standards.
• Initiates changes (MOC) and coordinates them with engineering and Technical Services Departments
• Participates in HAZOP studies as needed.
• Prepares activities for major plant overhaul, Turnaround and catalyst change.
• Issue Production Reports in coordination with Production Engineers and incident investigation.

Education:

Minimum High School – Preferred Diploma's in Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Catofin/Cracker technology.
