OB Van Engineer

Main Duties

  • Operate and maintain live broadcast systems inside OB vans.
  • Install, operate, and maintain devices such as switchers, routers, and all types of cameras.
  • Supervise the connection between the control room and shooting locations.
  • Manage and operate Talkback and IFB systems.
  • Support technical teams during live broadcasts and ensure communication stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in telecommunications and TV broadcasting.
  • Proven participation in large-scale live broadcast projects.
  • Familiar with Fiber, IP, and RF systems.
  • Fluent in Arabic or English (speaking and writing).
  • Ability to work under pressure and in live broadcast conditions.
  • Willingness to work throughout the week, including weekends.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team spirit.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • OB van systems operational uptime of at least 98%.
  • Technical downtime during live broadcasts not exceeding 2% of total airtime.
  • Preventive maintenance schedule compliance rate of at least 95%.
  • Response time to live broadcast technical issues within 15 minutes.
  • Technical team satisfaction score of 90% or higher.
  • Annual contribution to system performance improvements of at least 10% through technical reports or solutions.
