Nutanix Resident Engineer/Consultant - ELM

Summary:

The role of the Nutanix Resident Engineer/Consultant focuses on optimizing and enhancing the customer experience while ensuring effective administration and support of their existing Nutanix environment. This position is critical for fostering better adoption of Nutanix products and promoting customer satisfaction through proactive support and advanced troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Core duties include:

• Assessing current usage of Nutanix products and driving adoption.
• Ensuring a good customer experience through effective support of the Nutanix environment.
• Installation and configuration of Nutanix core products.
• Performing upgrades and patching.
• Migrating from 3-tier architecture to Nutanix.
• Executing cross-hypervisor migrations, e.g., from ESXi to AHV.
• Monitoring alerts and remediating issues proactively.
• Troubleshooting performance and availability issues.
• Planning and reporting on capacity and VM lifecycle management.
• Collaborating with Nutanix support for advanced troubleshooting.
• Participating in planning and executing disaster recovery drills.
• Acting as a trusted advisor regarding Nutanix best practices and architecture.
• Automating administrative tasks using Nutanix features.
• Communicating new opportunities and customer reports with the Nutanix Sales Team.
• Keeping customers informed with project status and updates.
• Conducting Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for Nutanix products.
• Training and enabling customer resources.
  
  

Key Requirements:

• 8-10 years of experience in system administration and virtualization technologies.
• Excellent knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV and/or Hyper-V and VMware ESXi.
• Ability to diagnose complex problems across platforms independently.
• Strong customer-centric communication skills.
• High comfort level in conducting whiteboarding sessions and group presentations.
• ITIL practice knowledge or certification preferred.
• Understanding of storage and data protection technologies.
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Python/PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with VDI (Horizon or Citrix).
• Knowledge of SQL clusters and networking/routing.
• Familiarity with self-service orchestration tools.
• Experience with ServiceNow and Veeam Backup.
• Knowledge of F5 & Citrix Netscaler.
