Job Summary:
With minimal supervision, the MPD Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to all activities related to MPD operations (Planning and execution) in all its variants (CBHP, PMCD, Continuous Circulation) . In addition, the level MPD Engineer will take the lead on many special projects and assist in training and mentoring more junior personnel. Managing all aspects of project preparation for common MPD wells. Wellsite engineering. Preparation and delivery of technical presentation/reports of complex MPD topic/projects, Participation in HazID and HazOP reviews. Training and mentoring junior personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILTY & AUTHORITY:
- Provide wellsite engineering support to common application of MPD with minimal support. Common activities include; crew supervision, rigging-in, daily reporting, flow modeling, coordinate procedures, safety meetings, specialty calculations, fluid checks, corrosion monitoring, data interpretation, training, field superintendent, etc.
- Lead in improving and developing new standard processes and procedures.
- Providing engineering office support for application of MPD. Common activities include; project management, tender response, MPD proposals, flow modeling, procedure preparation, report writing, develop training material, technical paper preparation,etc
- Act as a mentor to the junior personnel within the group and assist with hands-on or classroom training as required
- Assist in conducting HazOP and HazID reviews and provide MPD knowledge and expertise as required
- Ensure MPD activities conducted in a manner that meets all corporate and regulatory QHSSE standards
- As directed by the Regional Engineering Manager, assist sales and business development personnel as required Assist regional Engineering Manager, Engineering Coordinator, and engineering team as required
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- MSc/BSc Degree level in Petroleum/ Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- 3 to 6 years MPD experience
- Good English communication skills (both oral and written)
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Professional manner with positive customer service attitude
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Mobile and willing to work irregular hours in a field environment
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in order to meet deadlines
- Work history that demonstrates the ability to work effectively in both field and office environments
- Proven time and project management skills
- Proven ability to successfully lead a multiple disciplinary team
