MEP Quantity Surveyor (Construction Field)

For our client, a key player among Saudi companies and an industry leader headquartered in Riyadh, with a diverse global investment portfolio covering Real Estate, Telecom, Petrochemicals, Manufacturing etc., OROOK is looking for a MEP Quantity Surveyor (Construction Field)
The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the financial and contractual elements of MEP works within construction projects. The role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems, cost management, and contract administration to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for MEP works at the initial stages of the project.
Assist in establishing budgets for MEP elements of construction projects.
Review and assess cost implications for MEP design changes or modifications during the project lifecycle.
Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of contractor bids for MEP works.
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to obtain quotes for MEP-related materials and services.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Monitor and control MEP costs throughout the project by comparing actual costs with estimates.
Manage variations and change orders, including pricing, evaluation, and approval processes.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and expenditure analysis.
Review and interpret MEP-related contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Manage contract documentation, including invoices, payment certifications.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor MEP installation progress and ensure compliance with designs, specifications, and budgets.
Coordinate with the project management team and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of MEP systems.
Ensure all MEP materials and equipment meet quality and safety standards before installation.
Maintain accurate records of all MEP costs, contracts, and agreements.
Prepare final account statements for MEP works upon project completion.
Identify potential financial or contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
Qualifications:
→ Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
→ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the MEP sector, ideally in construction.
→ Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction processes, and cost management practices.
→ Proficient in using quantity surveying software (e.g. Autocad,WinQS).
→High level of accuracy in cost estimating and financial reporting.
