Job Purpose
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Mapping & Charting Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining maps and charts using geospatial tools and technologies. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all maps and charts are accurate, up-to-date and meet applicable geospatial data standards and policies. The Individual should be able to work well unsupervised and will be able to plan and organise the team’s activities.

Job Accountabilities
- Creates and maintains maps and charts using geospatial tools and technologies.
- Ensures that all maps and charts meet applicable geospatial data standards and policies.
- Collaborates with other geospatial specialists to integrate geospatial data and intelligence products into maps and charts.
- Applies analytical and creative skills to develop optimal map layouts and designs.
- Monitors and reviews map and chart production processes to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of mapping and charting platforms and tools.
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Certificate in Navigation & Hydrographical Mapping and Charting or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in mapping and charting roles.
- Skills in ArcGlS Pro, ArcGlS Desktop.
- Strong knowledge of cartography principles, geospatial tools and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of nautical charts i.e. ENC, DNC, AML.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers.
