Tasks And Responsibilities

Application Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement Mapbox applications from the ground up.
  • Utilize GIS input data from diverse sources to create comprehensive and interactive maps.
  • Ensure the applications are scalable, efficient, and maintain high performance standards.

Integration

  • Integrate new Mapbox applications with clients' current Mapbox platforms.
  • Ensure seamless data integration and synchronization between systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues promptly.

Data Management

  • Collect, process, and manage GIS input data from various sources.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within Mapbox applications.
  • Implement best practices for data handling and storage.

Client Collaboration

  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and objectives.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on using the Mapbox applications.
  • Regularly communicate project progress and updates to clients.

Technical Expertise

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Mapbox and GIS technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement robust testing procedures to ensure application reliability and performance.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of the applications to identify and address any issues.
  • Continuously improve application features and functionality based on user feedback

Education And Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Mapbox development and GIS.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Mapbox GL JS and Mapbox Studio.
  • Proficiency in handling and processing GIS data (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, raster data).
  • Familiarity with backend technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
