Ensures that ample supplies of hygienically clean linen are provided to the Hospital and measures production to establish facility benchmarks that are achieved daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1.Manages the daily operational activities of the section.
2.Ensures that a preventive maintenance program for all equipment is in place.
3.Prepares annual budget, and recommends purchasing of required equipment’s and provides justification.
4.Monitors linen utilization across the Hospital and uses data to develop appropriate Key Performance Improvement (KPIs). Organizes a linen inventory to ascertain the textiles available for use in the Hospital at present. Performs calculations that will provide factual information on linen replacement costs and other usage data.
5.Reviews and revises Laundry polices & procedures when practices change, new procedures are introduced or time requirement are adjusted and ensures that these polices & procedures are met.
6.Uses published standards for references or product/equipment specific recommendations.
7.Determines the level of quality of textiles required to obtain best results from the laundry process for sheets, towels, blankets, etc. and conveys this information to Logistics.
8.Maintains liaison with other departments/sections to resolve any problems relating to the section.
9.Evaluates uniform proposals and checks samples for quality.
10.Ensures that the section follows safe work practices.
11.Applies Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for all chemicals in use in the laundry areas.
12.Ensures the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) Standards are met.
13.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
14.Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.
15.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Business/ Hospital Administration, Environmental Health or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Three (3) years of related experience with Master’s or five (5) years with Bachelor's Degree, including two (2) years at a (supervisory/senior) position is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
- Certified Laundry and Linen Manager from Association for Linen Management is preferred.
- Saudi National Only.
